When 2018 started, one of my closest family members will be reaching a milestone age. My Father will turn 70 years old. In my family, such age spells two words, food and celebration. My initial plan was to rent a modest place for my paternal family. My wish was to celebrate in this popular and trusted Filipino-Chinese restaurant in my hometown. For those who live in Marikina, you might be familiar with Luyong Restaurant. I initially dismissed the idea because a relative claimed that the rates have become expensive. I don't know what prompted me but during summer, I decided to personally inquire. Much to my surprise, their rates were very affordable. I booked a weekend schedule and the rest was another priceless occasion spent with my family. Thank you to my #FunFabFam and I have to mention, the very efficient staff of Luyong Restaurant.
Other than my Father's birthday, here's the past week in photos.
My weekend breakfast bowl on its second week. Though honestly, I'm not sure how long this would last. It's easy to make, but part of me admits it's a little expensive. Like others, my usual excuse is that unhealthy food is cheaper. ;) But I'm completely aware of the fact that healthy food is cheaper than hospitalisation fees in the long run. ;)
Another one set of repeating breakfast bowl
Thank you Lili for the postcard.
Wishing everyone a great week ahead!
Belated happy birthday to your Dad! My father turned 70 last year, so napalipad talaga ako ng probinsya kahit for the weekend lang, hehe. Gusto ko din talaga kumain na ng healthy food, kaso namamahalan pa ako. Dapat siguro mag-reallocate ako ng budget, hehe.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Wag lang tayong marinig ng mga health advocates, baka awayin tayo. Hahahahahah
DeleteYour dad's birthday party sounds fabulous, and you are a thoughtful daughter. My favorite breakfast is healthy and cheap. Oatmeal. I cook one half cup oatmeal in one cup of milk or water for two minutes in the microwave and add whatever you like: fruit, raisins, brown sugar, whipped cream. Do you ever eat oatmeal? Yum.
ReplyDeleteI love your flat layyyyys!! Sobrang gusto kong maging healthy yung mga meals ko kaso ganun din naiisip ko at first na unhealthy food is way cheaper. But it's also true that healthy food is much cheaper nga kesa mahospital kaaa. Idk where to start thooo. Ang hirap hahahuhu.

Happy birthday to your dad, Diane :) I was also surprised at how granola, oats and almonds can get so expensive! Pero tama ka, health is wealth! I love your flat lays!!! :)
