Along with death and taxes, aging is, sadly, just a part of life. While it's important to accept the passing of the years, this doesn't mean you can't easily look younger. In fact, if you pursue these simple and easy to implement techniques for looking younger, you will likely feel younger too. This works on two separate levels.
On the surface level, you will see your newly refreshed appearance in the mirror and trick yourself into feeling younger because, well, you just look it. But if you take these steps towards leading a healthier and more energetic life, you will actually feel a great deal healthier, happier, and, yes, younger too.
Here are five steps you can take to look younger right now.
Take care of your skin
Your skin is one of the most obvious indicators of your age. This is why it is so crucial to look after it as you grow older. Maintaining a proper daily skincare routine is one of the easiest ways you can prevent the onset of aging skin and maintain a youthful glow.
Now, this isn't to say you can't just slap on any old moisturizer in the morning and hope it will make a difference. You have to curate your routine carefully. Work with your skin; don't just beat it into submission.
Choose a thin day cream to apply in the morning (taking care to exfoliate first), and apply a thicker night cream before bed. There are also a number of specialist neck creams and anti-wrinkle creams to complement this. Make sure you always use naturally-sourced creams - as harsh chemicals do more harm than good. CBD creams also serve as an option since it provides a natural approach to skin care. Hence, proving to be gentler and kinder to the skin.
Make your hair as luscious as it can be
Many people become insecure with the quality of their hairline as they grow older. This is a shame because everyone is in the same boat. While genetics and hair care can affect how dramatically your hair thins, it is just a fact of aging.
This doesn't mean you have to ignore it, however. There are a number of hair replacement treatments, such as an FUE transplant, that minimize intrusiveness and, hopefully, help you regain the hairline you've been mourning.
Consider taking time out
There's no getting around the fact that stress can take its toll on your skin and hair, as well as your overall demeanor. Although taking time out from the stresses of daily life is not always possible, you need to rest from time to time to recharge your batteries and prevent the onset of premature aging. Even a simple daily technique like yoga or meditation can drastically reduce the chances of stress and exhaustion impacting your appearance.
Shake up your wardrobe
Yes, it might be time to revamp your style. This is not to say your current style is wrong or even out of date, only that the way we suit particular outfits changes as we grow older. While many people see this as a negative - because you can't wear a particular dress anymore or an old hoodie just doesn't look the same - it is actually a positive. Age unlocks a whole new world of outfits and looks. Wear the three-piece suit you could never pull off when you were twenty, or try a new hairstyle. Own your age. Don't let it own you.
Hit the gym
This is advice you can follow at any age. Leveling up your fitness routine will greatly improve your appearance, boost your health and agility while skyrocketing your moods, too. All of this combines to radically alter the aging process - with everything from your belly to your skin showing the benefits of increased time in the gym or on the daily jog.
For me, it's sunscreen and short hair. I like my hair short because there's a huge decrease in hairfall. Thinning na din kasi yung hair ko, maybe due to stress, but hindi lang halata sa photos kasi sa top back part sya ng ulo.
